Sarah A. Friedman has had a passion for photography since she was a child growing up in Cleveland Ohio. She moved to New York City to hone her skills at the School of Visual Arts in 1989. Upon graduating in 1993, Sarah spent much of her time exploring the many different and colorful aspects of urban sub cultures. Documenting and recording the daily struggles, triumphs, and tragedies, of people who are often stereotyped and rarely understood, gave Sarah a unique perspective on the human experience. By 1998 she had moved successfully into the commercial and editorial arena with bold and complex takes on a wide assortment of subject matter. When she is not photographing athletes, hip hop artists, CEO's, celebrities, and the like, she can be found teaching photography courses at her alma mater.
